Players To Watch
Broncos
Russell Wilson: After a blockbuster trade sent the Seattle QB to Denver, many were left wondering if the Broncos finally found their QB. The one-time Super Bowl champion has done a lot in Seattle but his 2021 season was derailed by injury. Time will tell if his 2021 pitfall was a fluke or the start of a bigger downfall.
Jerry Jeudy: The former first round draft pick has enjoyed moderate success as the Broncos WR1. But this season could be the season he truly breaks out. The Russ-Jeudy connection has been making waves in pre-season but we will see how it translates next season.
Chiefs
Trent McDuffie: When Joe Burrow torched the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game, it was obvious the secondary needed addressing. That's why the Chiefs traded up to snag Trent McDuffie out of Washington. The college CB was the best in the Pac-12 and didn't allow a single TD in 2021.
Travis Kelce: The veteran TE has been the best at his position in the NFL for the past two seasons and Denver has shown no sign of slowing him down. He has totaled 1,176 yards and six touchdowns against the Broncos including five games of over 100 yards.
Prediction
The Chiefs have won the past twelve matchups against the Broncos and sadly I do not see that changing this season. The Broncos still have a lot to work on and with a suspect defense, I do not think they'll be slowing down this Chiefs defense in any of their two matchups. Russell Wilson's 2021 season has me scared for his future as he ages. I'm seeing a Chiefs sweep here
Week 14: 37-20 Chiefs
Week 17: 21-17 Chiefs
