Alabama vs Texas A&M, Prediction, Game Preview
Alabama and Texas A&M don’t meet on the football field until October, but the matchup is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated in all of college football’s 2022 season. On May 18th in Birmingham, Alabama head coach Nick Saban was speaking to a large group of local business owners about players using their name, image and likeness to earn revenue while competing in college athletics.
At one point during an answer, Saban claimed “We were second in recruiting last year, A&M was first. A&M bought every player on their team, made a deal for name, image and likeness.” Saban would also go on to call out schools like Jackson State and Miami with similar accusations.
In response to Saban’s claims, Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher called a press conference and unleashed on Saban: “Some people think they're God. Go dig into how God did his deal. You may find out…a lot of things you don't want to know. We build him up to be the czar of football. Go dig into his past, or anybody's that's ever coached with him. You can find out anything you want to find out, what he does and how he does it. It's despicable."
Fisher served as Saban’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at LSU from 2000-2004, and last season became the first of his former assistants to ever beat him head-to-head when unranked Texas A&M shocked the country by knocking off the unbeaten Crimson Tide.

SportsRec Prediction
Alabama 31, Texas A&M 24
The last time Alabama suffered a home loss was in 2019 against Joe Burrow's LSU Tigers, and even with the nation's top recruiting class and a win last season, it is difficult to imagine something like that happening again with Texas A&M coming to Tuscaloosa. 2021-22 Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young has the experience and weapons around him to get the job done, and knowing that Saban and staff have had this game circled since the loss last season, look for Alabama to hold on to a victory in a close, competitive college football game.
