How to Grip a Putter Like Tiger Woods
While Tiger Woods is certainly a long hitter, his short game has been a key factor in his success, particularly in major tournaments. Most notable was his 2008 U.S. Open victory, in which he sank a 65-foot eagle putt in the third round, then forced a playoff with a 15-foot putt on the tournament’s 72nd hole.
While Woods tweaked his putting grip in late 2011, the style he’s employed for most of his career has certainly served him well. In 2008, Woods termed his grip “conventional.”
Place your left forefinger across your right hand, with the fingertip lying between the third and fourth fingers of your right hand. In 2008, Woods told "Golf Digest" he overlapped his fingers this way “to provide unity."
